2-4-6-8 who do we appreciate?!

Wow! the week is really flying by. Our house is busy ending the school year and getting ready for the Summer. It seems like 2007-2008 has just flown by! How about you?

I hope that you will be able to come to TUC on Sunday. We have a lot planned for your children this week.

Also, don’t forget about the “Helper Appreciation Lunch” this Sunday after church. Immediately after the 11 am service we are going to have a real sit-down lunch in the Fellowship Hall. Several volunteers are putting their efforts into preparing a great menu.

All of their hard work is to show our appreciation for our volunteers. Our children’s ministry at T.U.C. would not exist but for the hard work of 15 to 20 volunteers EVERY SUNDAY! These are the hardworking moms, dads, brothers and sisters who spend time on Sunday working with children.

Our volunteers are in the nursery helping our paid staff with an extra pair of hands. Our volunteers are helping out with Worship Childcare by leading activities in a warm and loving environment. Our volunteers are making crafts before these events. Our volunteers are leading KCK for older children.

Mostly the volunteer work is very rewarding. (Kingdom work usually is!!) But sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming. And sometimes it is hard to know if you are making progress with these little minds. So let me ask you to do me a favor this week. Why not give your volunteers some encouragement? When you see a children’s ministry volunteer this week, give him or her a warm word of encouragement and a pat on the shoulder.

And come on Sunday to the lunch to show your “aloha” for these hard-working volunteers. Sunday lunch with friends, fellowship and food! Sounds like fun to me!
